Indian Standard Time (IST) is the time observed throughout India and Sri Lanka, with a time offset of UTC+05:30. India does not observe Daylight Saving Time (DST) or other seasonal adjustments. In military and aviation time IST is designated E* (“EchoStar”). Indian Standard Time is calculated on the basis of 82.5° E longitude, from a clock tower in Mirzapur (25.15°N 82.58°E) (near Allahabad in the state of Uttar Pradesh) which is nearly on the corresponding longitude reference line. / भारतीय मानक समय (IST) पूरे भारत और श्रीलंका में मनाया जाने वाला समय है, जिसमें UTC+05:30 का समय ऑफसेट होता है। भारत डेलाइट सेविंग टाइम (डीएसटी) या अन्य मौसमी समायोजन का पालन नहीं करता है। सैन्य और विमानन समय में IST को E* (“इकोस्टार”) नामित किया गया है। भारतीय मानक समय की गणना 82.5° पूर्व देशांतर के आधार पर, मिर्जापुर (25.15°N 82.58°E) (उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य में इलाहाबाद के पास) के एक घंटाघर से की जाती है, जो लगभग इसी देशांतर संदर्भ रेखा पर है।
