Isooctane (upper) has an octane rating of 100 whereas n-heptane has an octane rating of 0./ ऑक्टेन रेटिंग या ऑक्टेन नंबर मोटर या विमानन ईंधन के प्रदर्शन का एक मानक उपाय है। ऑक्टेन संख्या जितनी अधिक होगी, ईंधन उतना ही अधिक संपीड़न का सामना कर सकता है। Isooctane (ऊपरी) की ऑक्टेन रेटिंग 100 है जबकि n-heptane की ऑक्टेन रेटिंग 0 है।
