Edible plant stems are one part of plants that are eaten by humans. Most plants are made up of roots, stems, leaves, flowers, buds and produce fruits containing seeds. The edible portion in an onion is swollen leaves with a bit of stem. They are bulbs which, like garlic and leeks, are modified stems in which the primary storage tissue is expanded leaf bases. They come in white, yellow, and red varieties. / खाद्य पौधे के तने पौधों का एक हिस्सा हैं जो मनुष्य द्वारा खाए जाते हैं। अधिकांश पौधे जड़ों, तनों, पत्तियों, फूलों, कलियों से बने होते हैं और बीज युक्त फल पैदा करते हैं। प्याज में खाने योग्य भाग सूजे हुए पत्ते होते हैं जिनमें थोड़े से तने होते हैं। वे बल्ब हैं, जो लहसुन और लीक की तरह, संशोधित तने हैं जिनमें प्राथमिक भंडारण ऊतक पत्ती के आधारों का विस्तार होता है। वे सफेद, पीले और लाल किस्मों में आते हैं।
