The anther contains microsporangia. Each microsporangium contains pollen mother cells. These undergo meiosis, and produce pollen grains, which contain the male gametes (sperm). The pollen is released by the opening of the anther. / परागकोश में माइक्रोस्पोरैंगिया होता है। प्रत्येक माइक्रोस्पोरैंगियम में पराग मातृ कोशिकाएँ होती हैं। ये अर्धसूत्रीविभाजन से गुजरते हैं, और परागकण उत्पन्न करते हैं, जिसमें नर युग्मक (शुक्राणु) होते हैं। परागकोश के खुलने से पराग निकलता है।
