Explanation / व्याख्या :-

The apparent depth will look less that its real depth due to the refraction of light. Refraction is the bending of a wave when it enters a medium where it’s speed is different. The refraction of light when it passes from a fast medium to a slow medium bends the light ray toward the normal to the boundary between the two media. The amount of bending depends on the indices of refraction of the two media and is described quantitatively by Snell’s Law. / प्रत्यक्ष गहराई कम दिखाई देगी कि प्रकाश के अपवर्तन के कारण इसकी वास्तविक गहराई है। अपवर्तन एक तरंग का झुकना है जब वह किसी ऐसे माध्यम में प्रवेश करती है जहाँ उसकी गति भिन्न होती है। प्रकाश का अपवर्तन जब तेज माध्यम से धीमे माध्यम में जाता है तो प्रकाश की किरण को दो माध्यमों के बीच की सीमा की ओर अभिलम्ब की ओर मोड़ देता है। झुकने की मात्रा दो मीडिया के अपवर्तन के सूचकांकों पर निर्भर करती है और इसे स्नेल के नियम द्वारा मात्रात्मक रूप से वर्णित किया जाता है।
