PIL stands for Public-Interest Litigation which is initiated in a court of law for the protection of the public interest. In Indian law, Article 32 of the Indian constitution contains a tool which directly joins the public with judiciary. A PIL may be introduced in a court of law by the court itself (suo motu), rather than the aggrieved party or another third party. / जनहित याचिका का मतलब जनहित याचिका है जो जनहित की सुरक्षा के लिए अदालत में शुरू की जाती है। भारतीय कानून में, भारतीय संविधान के अनुच्छेद 32 में एक उपकरण है जो जनता को सीधे न्यायपालिका से जोड़ता है। एक जनहित याचिका को पीड़ित पक्ष या किसी अन्य तीसरे पक्ष के बजाय अदालत द्वारा स्वयं (स्वयं की ओर से) अदालत में पेश किया जा सकता है।
