SAARC was established on 8 December 1985. Its seven founding members are Sri Lanka, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Afghanistan joined the organization in 2007. Myanmar has expressed interest officially to SAARC in joining as a full member where currently it has observer status. / सार्क की स्थापना 8 दिसंबर 1985 को हुई थी। इसके सात संस्थापक सदस्य श्रीलंका, भूटान, भारत, मालदीव, नेपाल, पाकिस्तान और बांग्लादेश हैं। अफगानिस्तान 2007 में संगठन में शामिल हुआ। म्यांमार ने सार्क के पूर्ण सदस्य के रूप में शामिल होने के लिए आधिकारिक रूप से रुचि व्यक्त की है, जहां वर्तमान में इसे पर्यवेक्षक का दर्जा प्राप्त है।
