HIV’s enzyme for inserting the DNA version of its genome into the host cell DNA is called its “integrase”. HIV-1 integrase catalyzes the “cut-and-paste” action of clipping the host DNA and joining the proviral genome to the clipped ends. It is also produced by viruses containing double-stranded DNAs for the same purpose.
अपने जीनोम के डीएनए संस्करण को होस्ट सेल डीएनए में डालने के लिए एचआईवी के एंजाइम को इसका “इंटीग्रेज” कहा जाता है। HIV-1 इंटीग्रेज मेजबान डीएनए को क्लिप करने और क्लिप्ड सिरों पर प्रोविरल जीनोम को जोड़ने की “कट-एंड-पेस्ट” क्रिया को उत्प्रेरित करता है। यह उसी उद्देश्य के लिए दोहरे-फंसे डीएनए वाले वायरस द्वारा भी निर्मित होता है।
