A nuclear power plant is a facility at which energy released by the fissioning of atoms is converted to electrical energy under strictly regulated operating conditions. The major processes are the same as those in nonnuclear (conventional) power plants except that the coal or oil fired boiler is replaced by a nuclear reactor. / एक परमाणु ऊर्जा संयंत्र एक ऐसी सुविधा है जिस पर परमाणुओं के विखंडन द्वारा जारी ऊर्जा को कड़ाई से विनियमित परिचालन स्थितियों के तहत विद्युत ऊर्जा में परिवर्तित किया जाता है। प्रमुख प्रक्रियाएं गैर-परमाणु (पारंपरिक) बिजली संयंत्रों के समान ही होती हैं, सिवाय इसके कि कोयले या तेल से चलने वाले बॉयलर को परमाणु रिएक्टर द्वारा बदल दिया जाता है।
