Chandra Gupta II was the third, and most significant of the Gupta kings. During his reign the famous Chinese pilgrim Fa-Hsien visited India and wrote a detailed account of his kingdom. The celebrated Chinese pilgrim was struck with admiration by the famous royal palace and the houses for dispensing charity and medicine at Pataliputra. He speaks highly of the system of government in the Madhya-desa and the benevolence of the people, especially the moneyed classes. /चंद्र गुप्त द्वितीय गुप्त राजाओं में तीसरा और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण था। उनके शासनकाल के दौरान प्रसिद्ध चीनी तीर्थयात्री फा-सीन ने भारत का दौरा किया और उनके राज्य का विस्तृत विवरण लिखा। प्रसिद्ध चीनी तीर्थयात्री प्रसिद्ध शाही महल और पाटलिपुत्र में दान और दवा के वितरण के लिए प्रशंसा के साथ मारा गया था। वह मध्य-देसा में सरकार की व्यवस्था और लोगों, विशेष रूप से धनवान वर्गों की भलाई के बारे में बहुत कुछ बोलते हैं।
