An important function of the Reserve Bank of India is to act as Government banker, agent and adviser. The Reserve Bank is agent of Central Government and of all State Governments in India excepting that of Jammu and Kashmir. State Government transactions are carried out by RBI in terms of the agreement entered into with the State Governments in terms of section 21 A of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. / भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक का एक महत्वपूर्ण कार्य सरकारी बैंकर, एजेंट और सलाहकार के रूप में कार्य करना है। रिजर्व बैंक जम्मू और कश्मीर को छोड़कर भारत में केंद्र सरकार और सभी राज्य सरकारों का एजेंट है। भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक अधिनियम, 1934 की धारा 21 ए के अनुसार राज्य सरकारों के साथ किए गए समझौते के अनुसार आरबीआई द्वारा राज्य सरकार के लेनदेन किए जाते हैं।
