Among these the ancient one is of Sahgaura tamralekh, which have been excavated from the Gorakhpur district. / पत्थर पर सबसे पहले शिलालेख प्राकृत भाषा में थे और वे मौर्य काल के हैं। इनमें सबसे प्राचीन सहगौरा ताम्रलेख का है, जिसकी खुदाई गोरखपुर जिले से की गई है।
