The Ranjit Sagar Dam, also known as the Thein Dam, is part of a hydroelectric project constructed by the Government of Punjab on the Ravi River in the state of Punjab. The project is situated near Pathankot city in Pathankot District of the state of Punjab. The project is the largest hydroelectric dam in the state of Punjab. The dam is one of the highest earth-fill dams in India and has the largest diameter penstock pipes in the country. It is located upstream of the Madhopur Barrage at Madhopur. 

Ranjit Sagar Dam, also known as Thein Dam, is one of the highest soil dams in the country. It is the largest hydroelectric dam in Punjab. It is built on the Ravi river on the Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab border. By the way, this dam built between the beautiful hills attracts a lot of tourists. The length of this dam is around 25 km and width is around 8 km. It is part of the hydroelectricity project and is an important tourist destination.

This dam is currently 30 km away from Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir and Pathankot in Punjab. The project is used for both irrigation and power generation. The project is the largest power dam in Punjab with a capacity of 600 MW. Although the work for this project had started in the year 1953 and after long research and planning, its work started in the year 1981. However, there are disputes in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab government on many issues regarding the use of its water, including electricity, employment etc.

रंजीत सागर बांध, जिसे थीन बांध के रूप में भी जाना जाता है, पंजाब राज्य में रावी नदी पर पंजाब सरकार द्वारा निर्मित एक जलविद्युत परियोजना का हिस्सा है। यह परियोजना पंजाब राज्य के पठानकोट जिले में पठानकोट शहर के पास स्थित है। यह परियोजना पंजाब राज्य का सबसे बड़ा जलविद्युत बांध है। यह बांध भारत के सबसे ऊंचे मिट्टी से भरे बांधों में से एक है और देश में सबसे बड़े व्यास वाले पेनस्टॉक पाइप हैं। यह माधोपुर में माधोपुर बैराज के ऊपर की ओर स्थित है।

रंजीत सागर बांध को थीन बांध के रुप में भी जाना जाता है, यह देश के उच्चतम मृदा बांधों में से एक है. यह पंजाब का सबसे बड़ा जल विद्युत बांध है. यह जम्मू-कश्मीर और पंजाब बॉर्डर पर रावी नदी पर बना हुआ है. वैसे अभी खुबसूरत पहाड़ियों के बीच बना ये बांध पर्यटकों को काफी आकर्षित करता है. इस बांध की लंबाई 25 किलोमीटर और चौड़ाई 8 किलोमीटर के आसपास है. यह हाइड्रोइलेक्ट्रीसिटी प्रोजेक्ट का हिस्सा है और पर्यटकों के लिए अहम केंद्र है.

यह बांध अभी जम्मू कश्मीर के कठुआ और पंजाब के पठानकोट से 30 किलोमीटर दूर है. परियोजना का उपयोग सिंचाई और बिजली उत्पादन दोनों के लिए किया जाता है. यह परियोजना पंजाब का सबसे बड़ा बिजली बांध है, जिसकी क्षमता 600 मेगावाट है. इस परियोजना के लिए वैसे तो काम साल 1953 में शुरू हो गया था और लंबी रिसर्च और प्लान बनन के बाद साल 1981 में इसका काम चालू हुआ था. हालांकि, जम्मू-कश्मीर और पंजाब सरकार में इसके पानी के इस्तेमाल के लिए कई मुद्दों पर विवाद रहता है, जिसमें बिजली, रोजगार आदि शामिल है.
