The pericardium is a double-walled sac containing the heart and the roots of the great vessels. It is a tough double layered membrane which covers the heart. The space between the two layers of it is filled with a pericardium fluid which protects the heart from any kind of external jerk or shock. /पेरीकार्डियम एक दोहरी दीवार वाली थैली होती है जिसमें हृदय और बड़े जहाजों की जड़ें होती हैं। यह एक कठिन दोहरी परत वाली झिल्ली होती है जो हृदय को ढकती है। इसकी दो परतों के बीच का स्थान एक पेरीकार्डियम द्रव से भरा होता है जो हृदय को किसी भी प्रकार के बाहरी झटके या झटके से बचाता है।
