White blood cells, or leukocytes are cells of the immune system involved in defending the body against both infectious disease and foreign materials. They are produced and derived from a multipotent cell in the bone marrow known as a hematopoietic stem cell. They live for about three to four days in the average human body. Leukocytes are found throughout the body, including the blood and lymphatic system. / श्वेत रक्त कोशिकाएं या ल्यूकोसाइट्स प्रतिरक्षा प्रणाली की कोशिकाएं हैं जो संक्रामक रोग और विदेशी सामग्रियों दोनों के खिलाफ शरीर का बचाव करती हैं। वे अस्थि मज्जा में एक मल्टीपोटेंट सेल से उत्पन्न और व्युत्पन्न होते हैं जिसे हेमटोपोइएटिक स्टेम सेल के रूप में जाना जाता है। वे औसत मानव शरीर में लगभग तीन से चार दिनों तक रहते हैं। रक्त और लसीका प्रणाली सहित पूरे शरीर में ल्यूकोसाइट्स पाए जाते हैं।
