(3) Marginal utility measures the extra utility (or satisfaction) from consuming an additional unit of a product. Total utility is the total satisfaction from the consumption of the product. According to the Law of Diminishing Marginal Utility, total utility increases at a diminishing rate. When marginal utility is 0 this means there is no increase in total satisfaction from the consumption of that unit. So the total unit is at maximum. / सीमांत उपयोगिता किसी उत्पाद की अतिरिक्त इकाई के उपभोग से अतिरिक्त उपयोगिता (या संतुष्टि) को मापती है। कुल उपयोगिता उत्पाद की खपत से कुल संतुष्टि है। कम सीमांत उपयोगिता के कानून के अनुसार, कुल उपयोगिता घटती दर पर बढ़ती है। जब सीमांत उपयोगिता 0 होती है तो इसका मतलब है कि उस इकाई के उपभोग से कुल संतुष्टि में कोई वृद्धि नहीं होती है। तो कुल इकाई अधिकतम है।
