Pineapple is a perennial monocotyledonous plant having a terminal inflorescence and a terminal multiple fruit. The vegetative meristem produces leaves which becomes and inflorescence meristem. The Pineapple inflorescence contains many small flowers. Each flower has a prominent Bract. The Inflorescence Meristem which produces the Secondary Floral Meristem can revert to a Vegetative Meristem and can produce Leaves instead of Bracts. This forms the “crown” of the Pineapple and can be used to grow a new plant. / अनानास एक बारहमासी मोनोकोटाइलडोनस पौधा है जिसमें एक टर्मिनल पुष्पक्रम और एक टर्मिनल कई फल होते हैं। वानस्पतिक विभज्योतक पत्तियों का उत्पादन करता है जो पुष्पक्रम विभज्योतक बन जाता है। अनानस पुष्पक्रम में कई छोटे फूल होते हैं। प्रत्येक फूल में एक प्रमुख ब्रैक्ट होता है। इन्फ्लोरेसेंस मेरिस्टेम जो सेकेंडरी फ्लोरल मेरिस्टेम का उत्पादन करता है, एक वेजिटेबल मेरिस्टेम में वापस आ सकता है और ब्रैक्ट्स के बजाय पत्तियों का उत्पादन कर सकता है। यह अनानास का “मुकुट” बनाता है और इसका उपयोग एक नया पौधा उगाने के लिए किया जा सकता है।
