On the 14 August, 1947 meeting of the Assembly, a proposal for forming various committees was presented. Such committees included a Committee on Fundamental Rights, the Union Powers Committee and Union Constitution Committee. On 29 August, 1947, the Drafting Committee was appointed, with Dr B. R. Ambedkar as the Chairman along with six other members assisted by a constitutional advisor. / 14 अगस्त, 1947 को विधानसभा की बैठक में विभिन्न समितियों के गठन का प्रस्ताव प्रस्तुत किया गया। ऐसी समितियों में मौलिक अधिकारों पर एक समिति, संघ शक्ति समिति और संघ संविधान समिति शामिल थी। 29 अगस्त, 1947 को, संविधान सलाहकार की सहायता से छह अन्य सदस्यों के साथ, डॉ बी आर अम्बेडकर के अध्यक्ष के रूप में मसौदा समिति की नियुक्ति की गई थी।
