खरीफ फसल या मानसून फसलें घरेलू पौधे हैं जिनकी खेती और कटाई दक्षिण एशिया में बरसात (मानसून) के मौसम में की जाती है, जो अप्रैल और अक्टूबर के बीच रहता है। खरीफ की फसलें आमतौर पर दक्षिण-पश्चिम मानसून के मौसम के दौरान जुलाई में पहली बारिश की शुरुआत के साथ बोई जाती हैं और सितंबर-अक्टूबर में काटी जाती हैं। मुख्य खरीफ फसलें बाजरा और चावल हैं।

चावल
भारत चीन के बाद दुनिया में चावल का दूसरा सबसे बड़ा उत्पादक है। भारत दुनिया के चावल उत्पादन का लगभग 20% हिस्सा है। यकीनन यह देश में उगाई जाने वाली सबसे महत्वपूर्ण कृषि फसल है। चावल पूरे भारत में एक मुख्य भोजन है, और इसकी खेती भी पूरे देश में व्यापक है।
उच्च वर्षा वाले क्षेत्रों में चावल प्रमुखता से उगता है। इसके लिए औसत तापमान 25 डिग्री सेल्सियस और न्यूनतम 100 सेमी वर्षा की आवश्यकता होती है। यह परंपरागत रूप से जलभराव वाले धान के खेतों में उगाया जाता है। पूर्वोत्तर के मैदान और तटीय क्षेत्र देश के प्रमुख चावल उत्पादक क्षेत्र हैं।
मक्का
चावल और गेहूं के बाद, मक्का भारत में सबसे महत्वपूर्ण अनाज की फसल है। यह भारत में कुल कृषि उपज का लगभग दसवां हिस्सा है। मक्का की खेती आंध्र प्रदेश और कर्नाटक के क्षेत्रों में केंद्रित है। इसके लिए 21 डिग्री सेल्सियस से 27 डिग्री सेल्सियस के बीच तापमान और 50 सेमी से 75 सेमी के बीच वर्षा की आवश्यकता होती है।
Kharif crops or monsoon crops are domesticated plants cultivated and harvested during the rainy (monsoon) season in the South Asia, which lasts between April and October. Kharif crops are usually sown with the beginning of the first rains in July, during the south-west monsoon season and harvested in September-October. Main kharif crops are millet and rice.
Kharif Crops
The word “Kharif” is Arabic for autumn since the season coincides with the beginning of autumn or winter. As cultivation of these crops happens in the monsoon season, another name for Kharif crop is monsoon crop. The Kharif season differs in every state of the country but is generally from June to September. We sow the crop at the beginning of the monsoon season around June and harvest by September or October. Rice, maize, bajra, ragi, soybean, groundnut, cotton are all Kharif crops. Rice
India is the second-largest producer of rice in the world after China. India accounts for approximately 20% of the worlds rice production. It is arguably the most important agricultural crop that grows in the country. Rice is a staple food pan India, and its cultivation is also widespread across the country.
Rice prominently grows in high rainfall areas. It requires average temperatures of 25°c and a minimum of 100 cms of rainfall. It’s traditionally grown in waterlogged rice paddy fields. Northeast plains and coastal areas are the major rice-producing areas of the country.
Maize
After rice and wheat, maize is the most important cereal crop in India. It accounts for approximately one-tenth of the total agricultural produce in India. Cultivation of maize is focused in the regions of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. It requires temperatures in the range of 21°c to 27°c and rainfall of between 50 cms to 75 cms.
