The Light House of Indira Point serves to illuminate the ships going to Malaysia and Malacca via India. Indira Point is a small village on Campbell Bay, also known as ‘Mini Punjab’. Indira Point, the southernmost tip of the country, as a part of its journey to the Nicobar Islands to the Golden Vijay Varsha Vijay Jyoti Moved on 22 August 2021. Armed Forces personnel of Andaman and Nicobar Command hoisted the national flag on the occasion and also collected soil from here to make the important occasion memorable. The journey of Vijay Jyoti from north to south across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, reminds us of the spirit of the Golden Years of Victory. Golden Vijay is being celebrated to commemorate 50 years of India’s historic victory in the 1971 war.

Indira Point falls under the Nicobar District and Great Nicobar Tehsil of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands state of India. Administratively it is under Laxminagar Panchayat. There is only one light house here, which was inaugurated on 30 April 1972. It is located in the very south of India and is also called the last point of India. It is named after Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India. The Light House of Indira Point serves to illuminate the ships going to Malaysia and Malacca via India. इंदिरा प्‍वाइंट का लाइट हाउस भारत होते हुए मलेशिया और मलक्का जाते हुए जहाजों को रोशनी देने का काम करता है. इंदिरा प्वाइंट कैंपबेल खाड़ी पर स्थित एक छोटा सा गांव है, जिसे ‘मिनी पंजाब ‘ के नाम से भी जाना जाता है.स्वर्णिम विजय वर्ष विजय ज्‍योति को निकोबार द्वीप समूह की इसकी यात्रा के एक हिस्‍से के रूप में देश के सबसे दक्षिणी सिरे इंदिरा प्‍वाइंट पर 22 अगस्त, 2021 को ले जाया गया. अंडमान और निकोबार कमान के सशस्त्र बल के जवानों ने इस मौके पर राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराया और महत्वपूर्ण अवसर को यादगार बनाने के लिए यहां से मिट्टी भी एकत्र की. विजय ज्‍योति की यात्रा पूरे अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह में उत्‍तर से दक्षिण तक है, जो स्वर्णिम विजय वर्ष की भावना को याद दिलाती है. स्‍वर्णिम विजय वर्ष 1971 के युद्ध में भारत की ऐतिहासिक जीत के 50 वर्ष पूरा होने की स्‍मृति में मनाया जा रहा है.

इंदिरा प्‍वाइंट, भारत के अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह राज्य के निकोबार जिला और ग्रेट निकोबार तहसील के तहत पड़ता है. प्रशासनिक रूप से यह लक्ष्मीनगर पंचायत के अधीन है. यहां पर एक ही लाइट हाउस है जिसका उद्घाटन 30 अप्रैल 1972 को हुआ था. यह भारत के एकदम दक्षिण में स्थित है और इसे भारत का आखिरी बिंदु भी कहा जाता है.इसका नाम भारत की पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री इंदिरा गांधी के नाम पर रखा गया है. इंदिरा प्‍वाइंट का लाइट हाउस भारत होते हुए मलेशिया और मलक्का जाते हुए जहाजों को रोशनी देने का काम करता है. इंदिरा प्वाइंट कैंपबेल खाड़ी पर स्थित एक छोटा सा गांव है, जिसे ‘मिनी पंजाब ‘ के नाम से भी जाना जाता है क्योंकि वहाँ एक गुरुद्वारा बसा हुआ था. कहा जाता है कि कैंपबेल खाड़ी भारत में सबसे रहस्यमय स्थानों में से एक है.
