Bulliform cells are large, bubble-shaped epidermal cells that occur in groups on the upper surface of the leaves of many grasses. These cells, by their turgor changes, cause rolling and unrolling of the leaves thus regulating water loss.
Many grass leaves, folds during drought conditions and unfolds during moisturized conditions. It is due to the presence of large, thin-walled cells present on the adaxial side of the upper epidermis, called Bulliform cells.
बुलिफॉर्म कोशिकाएं बड़ी, बुलबुले के आकार की एपिडर्मल कोशिकाएं होती हैं जो कई घासों की पत्तियों की ऊपरी सतह पर समूहों में होती हैं। ये कोशिकाएं, अपने ट्यूगर परिवर्तन से, पत्तियों के लुढ़कने और अनियंत्रित होने का कारण बनती हैं और इस प्रकार पानी की कमी को नियंत्रित करती हैं।
