Popular sovereignty is the principle that the authority of the government is created and sustained by the consent of its people, through their elected representatives (Rule by the People), who are the source of all political power. It is also known as sovereignty of the people. / लोकप्रिय संप्रभुता यह सिद्धांत है कि सरकार का अधिकार उसके लोगों की सहमति से, उनके चुने हुए प्रतिनिधियों (लोगों द्वारा शासन) के माध्यम से बनाया और कायम रखा जाता है, जो सभी राजनीतिक शक्ति के स्रोत हैं। इसे लोगों की संप्रभुता के रूप में भी जाना जाता है।
